Candle Batch Calculator
Scale Your Production Run
Whether you're making 10 candles for a craft fair or 200 for wholesale, this calculator tells you exactly how much wax and fragrance oil to prepare.
Why Batch Calculation Matters
Mixing wax and fragrance in bulk is more consistent than measuring candle by candle. When you melt one large batch, every candle gets the same fragrance concentration, the same pour temperature, and the same wax composition. The result is a more uniform product with consistent hot throw across your entire run.
Planning Your Workspace
- Make sure your melting pot can handle the total weight. A double boiler works for batches under 10 lbs. Beyond that, consider a presto pot or dedicated wax melter.
- Prep all your containers, wicks, and wick centering tools before you start melting. Once the wax is at pour temperature, you don't want to be scrambling.
- Label your batch with the date, wax type, fragrance, and load percentage. When you find a combination that sells, you'll want to reproduce it exactly.
Pro tip: add 10% to your total wax amount to account for wax left in the pot and minor spills during pouring. Once you know your batch totals, use the Pricing Calculator to make sure your margins work before you pour.
